EP3: Lunch with Lindsay with Paula Faris and Stephanie Szostak
from the cutting room floor:
I truly believe some of the hardest moments, career-wise, are when you faced with a decision that falls in the category of work/life balance. What I value so much more now is the ability to connect and lean on other women who have faced similar challenges. Clearly stated, I love the work I do and want to be in on the action. I also want to be present for as much as I can when it comes to my family. This episode was a big, honest conversation about all of that. Saying “no”, taking risks, deciding to step back, launching towards the next thing, calling our own shots and how to identify WHEN TO DO THAT. Paula Faris was so open about her experience and Stephanie’s story about what an agent once said to hear made me want to throw my chair! Bottom line, this is just a tip of one iceberg in a much needed conversation about women betting on themselves and embracing the fear of saying “no” in order to advance their career passions while also being present as a mom.
Podcast show notes:
On the heels of Mother's Day, Lindsay invites friends, broadcaster and founder of Carry Media Paula Faris and actress, entrepreneur Stephanie Szostak for a conversation about "momlife". Paula anchored at Good Morning America and hosted the View for years before changing her lifestyle and launching Carry Media - a company focused on championing the working mom. Stephanie just wrapped the final season as Delilah on ABC's A Million Little Things.
The trio discuss and share their experiences as working moms in their respective fields and how difficult decisions or pivot points have led them into the exciting unknown on their journeys as mothers and working women.
