EP5: Sacrifice and Switching Personalities - Lee Brice & Joey Logano

from the cutting room floor:

I love a small, dusty, themed out country music venue so when I got the invite to have a conversation with NASCAR champion Joey Logano and country star Lee Brice ahead of Joey’s fundraiser at Coyote Joe’s in North Carolina, I was so excited. Lee had joined me to talk sports on a previous podcast on his farm outside of Nashville a few years back so I went into this conversation remembering how impressed I was by how Lee worked his country star schedule around his family’s and made pretty big sacrifices of convenience to be able to be “there” for things he did not want to miss.  It was cool timing because when we got down to it, those were the types of things Joey wanted to hear from Lee. I love when one of the subjects takes over the questions because it’s such a glimpse into the human connection of it all. I also found it fascinating that Joey HATES to be alone; always wants to be busy. I loved the stories these men shared about how they structure their time and about the fathers they want to be. One interesting surprise/admission was both of them connecting about how they basically switch personalities while on stage and on track. Makes total sense but not a lot of people admit that.

Podcast show notes:

Lindsay spends time with Country star Lee Brice and reigning NASCAR champion Joey Logano in this fitting Father’s Day conversation. The stars connect on adopting different personalities when taking the “stage”, what happens when you make it to the top and how they balance being the dads they want to be with the discipline it takes to be the best at what they do.
